Scallops & Ladders
Original Pattern by Carey Fiorello
Carey's original scallops & ladders pattern. The great thing about this pattern is that it is written in such a way that you can make it as wide as you need it to be and as long as you need it to be. This makes it great for making pot holders, dishcloths, blankets, pillow covers, or whatever you are inspired to use it for!
DIRECTIONS:
Ch multiple of 15 + 6
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch st across.
Row 2: Ch 3, turn. (Counts as 1st dc) dc in each of next 4 sc (5 dc including the ch 3 that counts as a dc) *skip next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, sk next 4 sc, 5 dc in next sc, sk next 2 sc, 1 dc in each of next 5 sc* ; repeat from * to * across.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in last dc and in each dc across.
Repeat Rows 2 & 3 to desired length.
NOTE: May also be worked without row 3, but I like the way it looks w/ the addition of row 3 personally.
POT HOLDER - chain 21 using I hook. Do row 1, then do 2 and 3 till you have 13 rows. Make two… put together and sc around doing 3 sc at corners, next row do a shell pattern around and at one corner chain 10 and make a hanging loop…
